Soi Nguyen A Real Poker Gem

Some people are naturally good at certain things while others have to develop acumen for it. In the case of poker, Soi seems to be blessed with a natural ability for the game while other’s may need to invest more time in mastering it. This 37 year old medical supplies distributor is said to have learnt the game of poker from his professional poker playing friends and today is giving them a run for their money.

In fact it is true that Soi has never before participated in a World Series of Poker before and this is his first time in the 2010 WSOP. Needless to say, one did not expect him to fare to well and be able to push out even the most experienced players from the tournament.

The 7th day of the game saw some fantastic play between Soi and Jorgenson and a few aspects of this game are detailed below –

Soi’s Position- When Soi entered the 7th round his game play was aggressive no doubt. He had been able to build up a huge size in terms of chips and was an already rated as one of the largest chip holders of the round. Soi held over nine million in chips at the beginning of this round.

Jorgenson’s Position- When Jorgenson entered the 7th round he was hailed in as the player to have had the largest number of chips at the end of round 6. Needless to say, this put Jorgenson in a position of great power.

Game play – The game between the two titans began with Soi making the first move by check-raising a bet of 525,000 to 1.5 million in a three-way pot holding Kh-Jc with the board reading Kc-5h-9c. Obviously Jorgenson reacted to this, since he did not want to let go of his lead in the stash race. This is why Jorgenson raised the bet by four million. While Soi did think for some time, he presumed correctly that his K-J was the better hand and so he bet all of his 7.62 million thus putting everything he had on stake. Now it was a do or die situation. Jorgenson called and showed his nut flush draw with the Ac-3c which made everyone’s attention turn to the dealer. The dealer promptly put down a Td on the turn and the 3d on the river and thus made Soi the winner of the 19.52 million chips.

End Results – Jorgenson lost the hand, his position as the leading player holding the highest number of chips and also a place in the game. Soi on the other hand now has a chip collection that was not going to be easy to beat. This leading position would put him in a much better spot and he will be able to play his aggressive game with the ability to bully other players with lesser chips into withdrawing.

Soi’s game is by far very interesting and immensely intriguing. His all or nothing stance can make you pulse race like a horse.
